Beats Solo Pro Wireless Headphones Review. Style and noise reduction.

Beats Solo Pro Wireless Headphones Review. Style and noise reduction.

Towards the end of 2019, I finally got to them! This is my first exposure to the Beats headset and overhead form factor. To be honest, I was looking forward to it.

The reason is, first of all, in the brand itself.

In 2008, rapper and hip-hop producer Dr. Dre started the Beats Company. Its main direction is the production of headphones and speakers.

I had never heard that Beats products were the standard of sound quality, but they were among the best in design, which also made them popular with Hollywood stars.

This popularity also reached Russia, but in a peculiar manner. If it was possible to find fakes in all sorts of dubious stores, then it was and still is Beats. It’s like Apple in the world of headsets.

It’s no coincidence that Apple acquired Beats Electronics entirely for $ 3 billion in 2014. This purchase became one of the largest in the history of the “apple” company.

Since then, even more attention has been paid to Beats. Everyone is hungry for headset innovation. But the company is in no hurry with breakthroughs and gradually goes its own way.

In my opinion, 2019 is one of the most memorable years for the company. In April, the Powerbeats Pro sports wireless headset was announced. They are based on the Apple H1 processor used in the AirPods (2019). Unfortunately, I could not get to know them, but judging by the reviews of Western journalists, they liked the headphones.

They appeared on sale in Russia in the summer.

In October, we were introduced to the Solo Pro on-ear headphones. As it turned out, some of their features formed the basis of the Apple AirPods Pro, which was announced 12 days later. And it is about Solo Pro that we will talk today.

High standards.

All Apple products are judged primarily by design. For a long time, Johnny Ive was responsible for this, but what will happen after he leaves is a mystery. Why am I talking about Apple?

The Beats is expected to do the same.

In this case, everything is simpler. They took the Beats Solo Wireless as a basis and brought them to mind. So far there are six color options and each one is beautiful: red, light blue, black, gray, ivory and blue.

I took the latest version for testing, but I advise you “ivory” – it looks premium.

For manufacturing, metal (base) is used, matte plastic on top, polyurethane (headband) and eco-leather (inner covering of the ear cushions). Matte plastic is a great solution, it looks more expensive, but traces still remain. I liked the implementation of the headphone retractable mechanism – it is hidden neatly under the plastic.

In the flagship Sony headphones, the bending elements are made of plastic and often there are negative reviews on the Internet that plastic cracks over time. The Solo Pro uses metal in these places – reliable and durable.

It is necessary to transport the headphones folded. In order not to damage them, a soft cover made of felt material is placed in the kit. The same Sony headphones come with a hard cloth cover, but with a slightly larger size.

Therefore, it is more convenient to carry Solo Pro in a backpack – they take up less space.
